Sue Prentiss, R.N. (1975)
Annie Sprinkle is Sue Prentiss, R.N., one of four nurses waiting for team of divers as they emerge from the NYC sewer system after searching for alligators. (Yes, allligators.) An anonymous voice booming from an unseen helicopter keeps shouting commands to the nurses and scuba team, as clothes come off and bodies are hosed down. "Oh the humanity!" exclaims Bobby Astyr, though what he meant to say was "humiliation". Then underground explorers are zapped by ultra-violet rays. What's going on? Astyr wants to know, too. Well, the nurses are there to take a sperm count. "After diving for alligators all day," says Astyr, "I think I'll dive for muff!" The big question, however, has to do with "what they saw down there," and they're kept in porno quarantine in the meantime... and we all know what that means!

The world's first Vaudeville/Musical/Porno Movie. Doug Collins and Avind Harum had made a hilarious but unsaleable film called, "An American in Bethesda". Viet Nam vets in the Bethesda VA Hospital are entertained by various Vaudeville performers; comedians, tap dancers, singers, Adagio Dancers with a 12 foot python, etc. During the show, the patients, including one amputee, have sex with the hospital's nurses. Doug couldn't sell this thing to anybody so Bill Markle and I bought it, added some more sex scenes, a laugh track, and sold it to Teddy and Tom, the Greeks who owned the Capri Theater as, "Teenage Nurses." Audiences were horrified, the Greeks were pissed, and Al Goldstein said the following about Teenage Nurses, "Pornography loses its innocence, and succumbs to moral rot in this puker." I thought I had died and gone to heaven. - Shaun Costello
