Since both the TV series and the film have strong sexual overtones which must naturally remain unrequited. Smash' earns its purple "X" with flying uninhibited colors.
From the outset - when the medical units dash to the rescue of the crew of a fallen B25, to their return to the base camp with the wounded airmen and though the ensuing operations of their zanyfield hospital - we are treated to a succesion of vignettes loaded with erotic, comical fair-cut exploits and situations.
Characteres such as Telescope, Hot-Puss, a bunch of madcap doctors and wild-eyed, sex crazed nurses parade through all the porno repeatory ever conceived by mortal man at his lecherous best. Thus a mud fight between two stripped nurses, a football game between male patients and female attendants, blow jobs and horny encounters - all before the appreciative gaze of cheering onlookers - create the atmosphere the original film could only hint at.
