Come to the Orgy features over a dozen very boyish-looking men partying poolside. There's no dialogue, only music, and pieces from early sixties radio in the background. After toking on some joints and downing a few beers, the men get down to some fun, literally. Brian has some fun too: watch for the guy who puts the ultimate "all-beef" wiener on his hot dog bun. There are very few group sex scenes, though, and most of the men are paired off in couples who are seen sucking and fucking, mostly the former.
Next, in Do Your Own, Robin Yanco sucks himself off, providing the old adage: if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.
The Big Braggart starts with a young man beating his meat as he leafs through a Playboy magazine. Jim Cassidy comes into the room and he strips naked to join the guy. At this point, the director cuts away to scenes of Cassidy getting down with a youthful blonde woman as though he is fantasizing about her instead of his buddy. A third man enters the scene, out of nowhere, and the three break into playful wrestling on the floor. The two smaller guys pin Cassidy and fuck his shapely ass.
The final sequence, Naked Ship, has three men on a boat in the middle of San Francisco Bay. They start caressing and, before long, they're sailing into ecstasy. Shot in the early 1970's, the film has a background of pop songs but no dialogue. There are a few production flaws, but for its time, it's a decent film, especially the three-way. A BIJOU VIDEO exclusive originally shot on film and later transferred to video.

Pink Narcissus is a 1971 drama film by James Bidgood visualizing the erotic fantasies of a gay man.
Between visits from his keeper, or john, a handsome male prostitute (Bobby Kendall), alone in his apartment, lounges, fantasizing about worlds where he is the central character. For example, he pictures himself as a matador, a Roman slave boy and the emperor who condemns him, and the keeper of a male harem for whom another male performs a belly dance.
The movie is mostly shot on 8 mm film with bright, otherworldly lighting. Aside from its last, climactic scene, which was shot in a downtown Manhattan loft, it was produced in its entirety (including outdoor scenes) in Bidgood's small New York apartment over a seven year (from 1963 to 1970) period and ultimately released without the director's consent who therefore had himself credited as Anonymous.
It was not widely known who had created the movie, and there were rumors that Andy Warhol was behind it. In the mid-1990s, writer Bruce Benderson, who was obsessed with the film, began a search for its maker based on several leads and finally verified that it was James Bidgood, who was still living in Manhattan and was working on a film script. In 1999, a book researched and written by Benderson was published by Taschen about Bidgood's body of photographic and filmic work.
Bidgood's unmistakable kitschy style has later been imitated and refined by artists such as Pierre et Gilles.

Even in the midst of the decade of liberation, some people knew that it was a matter of time before it came to a crashing halt. Tom De Simone has a story to tell and tell it he does. Set in the decadent '70s, Confessions of a Groupie is about drugs and sex in the world of rock-n-roll with a gay twist. At times this film is both shocking and radical, with its scenes of shooting up dope and celebration of erotic pleasure. But ultimately the rapturous ride of our hero, called The Groupie, comes to an end. Featuring blowjobs, sixty-nining, and jacking off, it's spiced with sex.

Larry Danser, The Groupie, begins his journey with a line of coke. He sniffs the drug while listening to George Harrison's My Sweet Lord and goes into a fever dream that begins with him dancing in a white fringed poncho and ends with a jack off session. The camera traces his hot little body as he works his erection. His face tilts back in ecstasy as droplets of pudding splatter onto his torso. Somehow this experience changes him and he decides to travel cross-country to Los Angeles. He explains as he walks along the streets of "Any-city" USA how America looked a lot like his hometown, only bigger. He reaches Hollywood and, in what can be understood as the movie's theme, tells us, "When I hit Hollywood, it hit me back."

He meets Sweet Lady Mary, a large queen of the groupies who looks stunningly like Mama Cass. She introduces him to a hedonistic lifestyle of lying about eating chocolate, smoking dope, and sauntering around town in fabulous clothes. Mary is also the woman all rock stars visit when in town. She and The Groupie spend most of their time waiting for the next group to arrive. Soon enough, The Electric Banana makes their way into Mary's house and The Groupie's heart. The Electric Banana is a three-man mess of long hair and a lust for all things illegal. Two of the members, Jeff and Frank, are lovers. One night they make stoned love on Mary's bed as she sits on an adjacent chair licking a lollipop in tandem with their oral exchanges. The Groupie is officially hooked. Now he wants the Rock-n-Roll life, especially Steve, the other member of the band.

Mary teaches The Groupie how to make plaster casts of rock star cocks (Cynthia Plaster Caster anyone?) so he can reach his goal of getting with Steve. Before this happens, though, he jacks off to a James Taylor album cover and Mary takes a smacked out bath. Finally, The Groupie gets it on with Steve, and the sex is about as exciting as Carrot Top - all gangly face fucking and tentative kissing. The film abruptly ends with a wonderfully shot and edited "anything goes" party that features various bedazzled men and women doing all sorts of sordid things. The Groupie then explains that all of this happened three years ago and since then he's been busted for possession, Mary has died of an overdose, and the Electric Banana broke up because one of the members was drafted.

Even in the midst of the decade of liberation some people knew that it was going to come to a crashing halt. However, I don't think that even Tom De Simone, who always snuck conservative messages into his films, knew what was really coming... the 1980s. Nonetheless, Confessions of a Male Groupie is a testament to a world that can never exist again.
