Rapidgator not so rapid

I recently signed up for a premium membership for RG 3 days ago. It ran extremely fast on the first day I had my premium account, but its gotten progressively slower and slower each day. Today, I clicked on a link to download a 487 mb file and it stated an estimated download time 9 hrs.

Is anyone else also experiencing extremely slow service on their Gator accounts ?

I've been on other sites where contributors use RG and have found numerous problems with them. For a while, a week or so ago, any filed I tried to download using Jdownloader ended up as a very small .exe file, rather than the larger file video I'd intended. It seems an experiment of their that failed, of trying to get people to use their download system. Whatever, lots of others had also commented on that and I think they abandoned that attempt to switch free-users like myself. Now, just today here I tried to download from them and received "File Not Found-100% offline" messages in my Jdownloaded queue on several files I wanted. Ryushare and Uploaded.to do let me get the files, OK. So, I'm thinking RG is in trouble, either tech-wise or they're experiencing other problems. This reminds me of the Oron-meltdown and ultimate demise.

BTW, in another thread I commented on the anti-spam logo-puzzle being difficult to master. It really takes a lot of time. I understand the reason fully, however.

Yeah, they gave me this laundry list of things they thought the problem could be:

Some of the recommended solutions:
- use less chunks
- allow java.exe, javaw.exe and jDownloader in your firewall
- unstable internet connection, contact you ISP
- reboot PC
- uninstall/re-install firewall
- uninstall/re-install virus scanner
- torrent client using too many connections
- uninstall JRE (java) and re-install latest JRE version

Please clear the cookies.
After doing that you should re login.

I did all of them and still no change. Called the ISP and they said my service was spot on with no interruptions either. Wrote to RG again and told them all this and they insist it must be the ISP.

The service is really inconsistent though. Some days, files will fly and down load in 10 minutes or less, other times I get a quote of 18 hrs to a day for the same sized file. Have no idea whats going on with this service. I like it, but the speed is random how fast or slow it will download.



And ya, the anti-spam logo puzzles were kinda new/interesting/different when I first start seeing them but, ya, they can be kind of an annoyance sometimes- Lol

I got a premium Rapidgator subscription and one for Updated. The updated works fine, but the rapidgator usually times out before even small files have finished. In some cases I kept retrying the same file and eventually it downloaded after 4 tries. Often it doesn't even indicate failure, it just downloads a shortened file (and I skip the exe's it tries to download). They are not likely to get me to renew the subscription with this performance.

It's much slower than Uploaded.
