Teri Weigel, Playboy Playmate of the Month in April 1986, was in a severe car accident in August 1990; where she suffered severe neck and back injuries which required multiple surgeries. At about the same time, Weigel and Playboy became estranged over some business matters. The result was, Weigel went broke, was forced to sell her home and move into an apartment.

Weigel turned to adult films as a means to earn money, and her entry into the field was assisted by one of her apartment neighbors, who produced adult films. Her first film was "Inferno" in 1991, where she co-starred with Marc Wallice. As a result pf her foray into hardcore porn, Weigel was blacklisted by Playboy.

In 2005, Weigel was one of many porn actors inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame at the AVN Awards, the major industry awards show held annually in Las Vegas.
